Before the rooster crows, Gino Bello and his friend prepare to leave in San Bartolo for the whole day taking photos at the temple of Peruvian surfing: Pico Alto.

They have a boat with 15 engines, nothing fancy but enough to make the trip and have preferential seats at one of the best shows that surfing can offer.

"We have two outings, one on the north beach for medium-high peaks and another on the south beach when we know it's going to be huge. There's always a lot of adrenaline and preparation from the day before. I've already had some pretty good scares and hits. The outing and entry are as intense as being out there all day in front of a mountain of waves. Luckily, my captain is a diver, born on that beach, a fisherman, and a very good surfer," says Gino.

"It's quite an experience and we've become a classic. We always bring our good lunch to share and help the surfers, since some are there from 6 AM to 6 PM, and we give them their water, and others," he adds.

Below is proof of that trip and that day in Pico, by Gino Bello.
