Portu Chacón is back and doing good surfing.
Seba Correa surfed well, he passed round 1 but was eliminated in round 2
Gary Saavedra showed he has what it takes. He didn't make it, but he came close.
The Salvadoran locals had several standout performances today
Anthony Fillingim soars through the air at Punta Mango, advancing through rounds 1 and 2 and reaching the round of 16
Jason Torres came very close to scoring this aerial goal, and if he had, things would have been different for him.
Another one who didn't make it but showed he's in good shape: Patrick Castagnet
Rachel Presti achieving the third highest score of the day
Romeo Stone started with one of the best waves of the day but couldn't manage it in round 2. He remains in the junior category, where he recently won in Guatemala.
Tudela was definitely one of the highlights of the day, finishing first in both of his heats
Victor Camarena's clean and well-founded surfing pleased the judges who gave him an 8,33 on this wave
Correa, who gets barreled at Pico Alto, lands aerials on these waves... A complete surfer if ever there was one.
McDaid on track for Day 1's best score: 16 points with 9 + 7
Juan García Mata surfed well but finished third against an inspired Fillingim and Urcia

Oliver Heintz, with good surfing and good competition, made it to round 3.
