Pico Alto once again hosts an international championship

Pico Alto is once again hosting an international championship, the Vissla brand announced yesterday on social media. Just as it happened in Punta de Lobos, Chile and Punta Galea, Spain, events that were deleted from the WSL calendar and then reorganized independently, the Peruvian big wave par excellence was not left behind.
There will be $17.000 in prizes to be awarded and the waiting period runs from May 15 to September 16.
The guest list for the event includes international names Twiggy Baker, Ramón Navarro, Cristian Merello, Damien Hobgood, Torrey Meister, Felipe Cesarano, Bradley Norris and Nahuel Amalfitano.
And to the locals Toto from Romagna, Alejo Loret de Mola, Jaime Venegas, Miguel Tudela, Sebastian Correa, Gabriel Villaran, Jeronimo Castagnetto, Jose Gomez, Joaquin del Castillo, Gustavo Reategui, Kodiak Semsch, Cristobal de Col, Carlos Mario Zapata, Joaquin Castagnetto, Luis Gomez de la Torre, Gustavo Swayne and Martin Jeri.

According to the poster, $17.000 in prizes will be awarded.
The last time an international event was held at Pico Alto was on July 3, 2014, when Hawaiian Makua Rothman won the tournament that later gave him the world title that year.
