Pierre Rollet won the Punta Galea Challenge
Aritz Aranburu was runner-up. The 13th edition of the tournament took place on a dream day on the giant wave of Guecho
Frenchman Pierre Rollet won the 13th edition of the Punta Galea Challenge which took place today in gigantic and perfect conditions at the iconic break of Guecho, in the Basque Country.
Rollet scored 17,74 points and was followed by local idol Aritz Aranburu, who has just arrived from Hawaii. Behind him were Portuguese Alex Botelho, Californian Nic Lamb, Australian Zac Hynes and Basque Iker Muñoz.
The conditions remained great and perfect throughout the day and took their toll. One notable case was that of Englishman Andrew Cotton who, during the round 1 heat that he won, fell into a wave and tore the ligaments in his knee.
The final result was as follows:

2nd Aritz Aranburu
3rd Alex Botelho
4th Nic Lamb
5th Zac Hynes
6th Iker Muñoz
