Puerto Rico Surfing Federation announced pre-selection for the world championship in El Salvador
Delgado, Díaz, Pastrana, Cabrero, Calderón and Blanco appear as starters to fight for a place in Tokyo 2020
Ricardo Delgado, Mauro Díaz, Dwight Pastrana, Havanna Cabrero, Mia Calderón and Tia Blanco are part of Puerto Rico's main team for the ISA World Surfing Games that will take place in El Salvador between May 29 and June 6, the country's federation reported on social media.
These six surfers have as substitutes Manny Valentín, Cristian Rivera, Juan Carlos Gerena, Sage Katz and Gian Carlos Mendez in men and Flaviola Alcalá, Jolari Carrera, Liliana Franchesinni and Miramar Soto in women.
Former pro Josie Graves appears as coach and Victor Tort as national fitness trainer.
This team, which is already working on training, planned to participate in 15 training sessions, including a trip to El Salvador in April and arrival in this country for the World Surfing Games 11 days earlier, on May 18.
