QS 1500 in Puerto Escondido for October this year is confirmed on the WSL website

Between October 17 and 20, the most famous beach break in the world will once again receive a QS after eight years

The QS circuit will return to Puerto Escondido after eight years, reports the WSL website, which shows the Oaxaca Pro by Corona as confirmed to take place between October 17 and 20, 2019.

It will be a 1500 point event for the QS ranking.

The last QS event held in Puerto Escondido was in 2011, a four-star event won by Hawaiian Kiron Jabour, who in a 100% Hawaiian final left behind Ezekiel Lau, Billy Kemper and Clay Marzo in that order.

That year, the Peruvian Álvaro Malpartida and the local Christian Corzo had been eliminated in the semi-finals.

The Puerto QS was held for four years, between 2008 and 2011, and had several historic moments because on more than one occasion the sea was gigantic, bringing a good dose of adrenaline to the tournament.

Previous champions are:
2011: Kiron Jabour
2010: David Rutherford
2009: Clay March
2008: Angelo Lozano

The confirmation leaves a full calendar of international events for Mexican beach break, since the Puerto Cup has already been held, the MexPipe Warriors will be held, the PXM is confirmed for November and now, in October, this QS is confirmed.
