QS Mar del Plata definitely cancelled for 2021
Due to Covid 2019, “the conditions are not in place to hold the Rip Curl Pro Argentina 2021 event,” says a statement that set a new date for 2022

The QS in Mar del Plata, which had been rescheduled from Easter this year to October, has been definitively cancelled for this year, the organization reported in a press release to which DUKE had access.
“Due to the restrictions in force in Decree 494/21 and the respective national administrative resolutions, for the entry of foreigners into our country - only direct relatives of Argentines and residents can enter - , all as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic, we are forced to inform that the conditions are not in place to hold the Rip Curl Pro Argentina 2021 Category QS1000 event of the World Surf League, as planned in next October. Consequently, we inform that if the world and national situation allows it, the new date for said stage is Easter 2022,” the statement said.
Argentina has improved its situation with Covid-19, going from having an average of 30.000 new cases per week to just over 5300, but it keeps its borders closed.
