The QS 5000 in Noronha and the 3000 in Praia Mole will be the 11th and 12th stages of the South American QS regional circuit and will conclude the circuit that classifies continental surfers to the challengers, the WSL website shows and the WSL South America reported in a statement.

For women, the Floripa stage will be the last of the year, as the Noronha QS is only for men.

The deadline for completing the stages to conclude the circuit was until April and left the window open for more tournaments to be held and these two were the ones that were finally confirmed.

The Noronha stop will take place between February 28 and March 5 and the Praia Mole stop between March 8 and 12.

These 8000 points could shake the ranking that classifies eight men and four women to the challengers, with the exception of Miguel Tudela who with 14.000 points and five victories in five events has his ticket guaranteed.

The Peruvian is also practically guaranteed to become regional champion, potentially confirming himself as the first Peruvian to win the South American professional men's title. For this to happen, all that is needed is for Ian Gouveia not to win in Noronha, the WSL regional press office informed DUKE.

For her part, the Peruvian Daniella Rosas is also in a fairly comfortable position, practically guaranteed, with a 1500-point difference over her runner-up, Mimi Barona, and only one stage remaining, which is worth 3000 points. The scenarios are more varied for the women, but they have Rosas as the favorite.
