The Rip Curl Padang Padang will have an exclusive women's category starting this year, Surf Girl magazine reported yesterday.

The event, which showcases the best in the world alongside the best from Bali competing on the best tubes in Padang, has gone from mixing in a few women in the special competition to separating a division.

Young Erin Brooks, who was a finalist in the event last year, celebrated the decision.

The press release confirms the presence of Clay Marzo (HAW), Kolohe Andino (USA) and Mason Ho (HAW) in the tournament but does not confirm the names of the new women who will be part of the tournament.
