Rosas and Gundensen made the podium at the Ubatuba QS
Both were runners-up; Melanie Giunta was also outstanding and finished third.
Peruvian Daniella Rosas and Argentine Ignacio Gundensen achieved second place in stage 7 of the QS regional tour that recently ended on Itamambuca beach, Ubatuba, Brazil.
Both teams put up a good fight in the grand final against their Brazilian opponents, but the judges liked the local performances more.
Silvana Lima defeated Rosas by 16,17 to 11,67 and Alejo Muñiz defeated Gundensen by 17,10 to 16,77.
Also noteworthy was the participation of Peruvian Melanie Giunta, who placed third in the tournament. The local Ladies' team was unable to beat the champion in the semis in a hard-fought series: 16,26 to 15,26.
With this result, Gundensen moved into the top 5 of the regional ranking.
Giunta and Rosas, meanwhile, will be closer to the top 4 that qualify for the challengers. The former will discard a 500 and add 650, adding 150 more to her score line; the latter will add all 800 points and will also be on the verge of the qualification zone.
