Californian Sage Erickson is Kelly Slater's first teammate at her company, Outerknown, they reported in a press release in which they point out that the selection was a natural one because the regular footer represents everything the brand wants to propose.

Erickson expressed the same words, noting that he likes to be part of a company that is responsible with the environment and with its products seeks harmony between production and responsible care of the planet.

By chance, Erickson was Slater's partner at the Rumble at The Ranch, the WSL's first post-pandemic tournament.

Erickson finished the year outside the qualifying zone, in 13th, but placed third in the QS which kept her in the elite.
