An event immediately preceding the Surf City El Salvador Pro will determine the, for now, only local wildcard in the event, the Salvadoran Surfing Federation reported on its networks and confirmed in contact with DUKE.

This tournament will be judged by members of the World Surf League CT panel.

The top 10 surfers will qualify for the trials in stage 1 of the local tour, which will take place on April 8 and 9 on the Costa del Sol.

At the Punta Roca CT, scheduled to take place between June 12 and 20, 24 men (22 best on the tour and two guests) and 12 women (10 from the tour and two guests) will compete.

According to what was revealed in a press conference following the visit of the VP of the WSL, Graham Stapelberg, at least one space will be occupied by a Salvadoran.

At the women's level, it is presumed that it will be difficult to have a local wildcard because the usual WSL wildcard will be joined by the participation of Tia Blanco, who, as confirmed by Jessi Miley Dyer, chose El Salvador as one of her three wildcards that she won after winning the reality show Ultimate Surfer.
