The sea settled down in El Gringo, there were some tubes but no big waves; it will rise again tomorrow and improve its direction.

Brazilian Samuel Igo and Uruguayan Marco Giorgi were the two most outstanding surfers on the second day of the Arica Pro Tour that took place today in El Gringo.
The waves eventually dropped and helped them settle in more at the dreaded South American Pipeline. However, while the waves were coming in, it was difficult for surfers to find waves with decent scores.
Thus, Samuel Igo with 10,33 and Marco Giorgi with 9,97, were the surfers with the best scores of the day.
Igo received a 6,5 after flying down a big left, timing his bottom line well and then barreling through two heavy sections. He then backed up with a 3,8 to close out the competition with a win.
Giorgi, meanwhile, started his 25-minute series without finding anything until there were six remaining; he got a good tube in one of the series and on his way back he surfed an inside one that ended up being even better. The first one was worth 4,9 and the second 5,07.
Due to the difficulty of finding tubes, there were series that were decided with very low scores, even with maneuvers; Nacho Gundensen made the headlines with an off the lip to leave out one of the tournament favorites: Lucas Chumbo.
The following surfers also advanced to round 2: Douglas Silva, Manuel Selman, Phillipe Neves, Gabriel Klaussner, Cristobal de Col, Guillermo Satt and Krystian Kymmerson.
There are still three heats that were left pending from round 1 because the WSL waited for surfers to arrive from the Pan American Games.
The forecast is very favorable, with a new swell coming in with two feet more size than today but more than double the energy and more from the south.
