Samuel Pupo won the Young Guns for the second consecutive year
The first junior in history to win a championship in Slater's pool
Brazilian Samuel Pupo won the Young Guns 2018 for the second consecutive year yesterday, Friday, in a very special edition for being the first to be held in a wave pool.
The waves of Lemoore were once again on fire for a surfing championship, this time one that would pit four young surfers against each other: Franco-Mexican Marco Mignot, Frenchman Justin Becret, American Jet Schilling and the eventual winner, Samuel Pupo.
“I feel very happy to win this championship for the second year in a row,” Pupo wrote on his Instagram. “That wave is great, I have never had so much fun surfing in my life,” he added.
Not much information has been released by Quiksilver, the organizing brand. It is known that Pupo won and there is no further information on the position of the rest. It is also known that the aerial section was working at a certain point in the tournament and that Pupo put it to good use.
We will expand.
