Samuel and India won on the Gold Coast

Lucca and Ariane started their campaign at 17 and Miguel and Sol at 25

The first challenger of the year ended with a Brazilian-Australian victory, with Samuel Pupo and India Robinson dominating in a fun but not epic Snapper Rocks.

The best Spanish-speaking performances were by Lucca Mesinas and Ariane Ochoa, who finished in 17th place, and Miguel Tudela and Sol Aguirre, who did so in 25th place.

Sawyer Lindblad and Imaikalani from Vault made it to the grand final, with Steph Gilmore (who does not add any ranking points) and Sally Fitzgibbons tied for third place; Jett Shchilling and Crosby Colapinto among the men.

The next stage of the CS begins in two days, on May 17 in Narrabeen, Sydney.
