A historic day of longboarding crowned Julián Schweizer, Inés Beisso and Antonio Pita as champions of the Corona Longboard Festival, a historic event that brought together more than 50 of the best loggers in the country on a day dedicated exclusively to the discipline.

Bikini's waves behaved perfectly, consistent and well-formed throughout the day. The easterly wind blew but was not strong, keeping the sea in relatively good conditions throughout the day.

All series had waves surfed from Bikini point to the end, some of them breaking with head high to overhead size.

The goal of joining together for the love of longboarding was more than fulfilled, the event had legends of the sport like Cachito Vázquez, Antonio Pita and Arnold Glutz, with world-class professionals like Schweizer and Pignataro, with female talents like Beisso, Javiel, Pérez and Díaz, with a very interesting group of young people who are dedicated only to longboards.

Antonio Pita, a seven-time Uruguayan longboard champion who dominated the sport in the late 2.000s and early 40s, returned to victory in this event in the Grand Masters category (over XNUMX).

In a final series that seemed like a revival of his glory days, he narrowly beat Sebastián Cachito Vázquez (second), Juan Ildefonso Aroztegui (third) and Arnold Glutz (fourth), turning the series around in his last wave.

Among the ladies, Inés Beisso showed superiority in her heats, in her choice of waves and in her reading of them. With style, grace and a good line, the young regular footer dominated the championship from start to finish. In the final she left Orehana Javiel in second place, Bárbara Pérez in third place and the young Emma Díaz in fourth place.

The men's open final was a hot one. The category itself started off on fire with more than 32 entrants, those who climbed in round 1 plus substitutes.

The grand final was an anticipated duel between Julián Schweizer and Nacho Pignataro, with Máximo Gattás and Lucas Vázquez giving good performances but far from the scores achieved by the world champions.

Pignataro started leading but Schweizer came from behind and overtook the goofy footer.

As a demonstration of the rivalry and friendship that these two have, the winner's celebration was very effusive.

The tournament ended with laughter and hugs, with Corona beers being uncorked and splashed on the winners.

Everything indicates that this event will become a classic and that this event set a trend.

In addition to winning the men's and women's Open, Schweizer and Beisso won the Tag Team.
