The event was won for the first time with a strong base of radical maneuvers instead of tubes.

Oaxaca native Sebastián Williams and Baja California native Shelby Detmers were the big winners of the Mexican stage of the Surf Web Series, the online surfing world circuit that celebrated its fifth stage in the country of its birth.

Despite spending all his series with maneuvers, Sebastián Williams landed a good barrel that he completed with a roundhouse cutback to win the grand final against Alan Cleland who had presented a left barrel on Zicatela.

For the women, the final was a battle of backside attacks on Mexican right points. With two maneuvers, Detmers beat Regina Pioli, who executed about six maneuvers, but the judges decided to award more to the Baja California native.

In addition, in the bodyboard category the champion was David Olivera who beat Emilio Linares in the final.

With these results, Williams, Cleland, Rey Hernández and Angelo Donnanno, along with Detmers, Pioli, Alexia Echegaray and Asaya Brusa, made it to the world final of the event.

The online world tour now continues in Australia, where it will take place from December 7th. Liam O'Brien and Matt Banting have already confirmed their appearances.
