Session with Slater at the Surf Ranch was auctioned for half a million euros

It was one of the highest paid objects at the gala for the oceans of Prince Albert of Monaco in which Slater was present.

A person paid half a million euros for a private surfing session with Kelly Slater at the Surf Ranch in Lemoore during the latest edition of the auction for the oceans that the Prince of Monaco organizes annually on the terraces of the opera house in the European city-state.

Of the items that were released, the session with Slater was one of the most successful of an evening that raised 21 million euros and included extravaganzas such as horse rides with Madonna, yacht trips, safaris in Africa.

The base price for the surfing session with Kelly was 100.000 euros and in 50 seconds it reached 500.000. By paying this amount, the buyer will be able to surf for two hours in the wave pool created by Slater, located in central California. The session also includes the use of the Ranch facilities, breakfast and lunch, and photos and videos of the session. The catalogue clarifies that it does not include accommodation or transportation costs.

In addition to Slater, Orlando Bloom, Adrien Brody, Katy Perry and Leonardo di Caprio were among the attendees.

The gala included a red carpet, a cocktail party, a show by famous artists, a dinner with a Michelin-starred chef, and a live auction where experiences, collectibles, jewelry, and art by some of the artists who attended were sold. The foundation was created in 2006 and seeks to improve the environment through initiatives that combat climate change, promote biodiversity, and water resources.
