Slater's pool now has someone to take it to Oceania

The WSL has hired former Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark to lead operations in its region


Andrew Stark, who was CEO of Surfing Australia for the past 10 years, is now the new WSL Country Manager for Oceania, the WSL announced in a statement sent to the press.

The release highlights that Stark will be in charge of creating the WSL’s first high-performance training center in her region, “leveraging Kelly Slater’s technology.” She will also be responsible for partnerships, marketing and public relations, and event operations.

“The next few years hold what I believe will be the most exciting growth opportunity in the history of professional surfing,” Stark said, adding, “Having the opportunity to work with the WSL and Kelly Slater’s pool team is something I am excited and passionate about.”

"Andrew will be instrumental in developing the markets in his home country and on his home turf," said WSL CEO Sophie Goldschmidt. "He will accelerate the opportunities that exist there and we can't wait to see his positive influence on the region and the WSL."

Construction dates for Slater's pool on Australian soil will surely be announced soon.
