Several of the best surfers in history and today are registered for the Haleiwa Challenger, as can be seen in the tournament PDF on the WSL website.
Kelly Slater, John John Florence, Carissa Moore, are some of the CTs who are on the list. Also appearing are: Conner Coffin, Griffin Colapinto, Kanoa Igarashi, Frederico Morais, Jack Robinson, Deivid Silva, Jadson Andre, Seth Moniz, Tatiana Weston Webb, Caroline Marks and Malia Manuel.
In the tournament that will be key to determining the 12 men and six women who will be part of the CT 2022, the presence of several of the best will shake up the rankings, potentially playing in favor of those who are already well ranked.
Since they do not count towards the challenger rankings, a good result in Haleiwa does not shake up the rankings.
Other surfers who appear confirmed on the lists in addition to Mesinas, Muñoz and Correa are Aritz Aranburu, Brisa Hennesy, Leticia Canales, Leilani McGonagle, Garazi Sánchez and Daniella Rosas.
Nadia Erostarbe appears as third alternate and Ruben Vitoria as eighth alternate among the men.
