Sofia Mulanovich's table sold for $4.500 at a New York gala

The proceeds, along with other auctioned items, will be donated by the Help Peru Foundation to NGOs that seek to improve the quality of life of Peruvians.


A Merrick by Sofia Mulanovich was sold last night for $4.500 at the grand gala of Help Peru, an organization that raises funds for various NGOs that seek to improve the quality of life of Peruvians, the surfer informed DUKE.

Reigning two-time ISA World Champion and 2004 WSL World Champion Sofia was one of the main attractions of the evening, taking the stage, talking about her board and autographing it.

In the catalogue of items to be auctioned, Sofia's board appeared with a starting price of 750 dollars. It was one of the most hotly contested items of the night and climbed to 4500.

The event also saw the auction of Peruvian football shirts signed by the national team players, tennis rackets signed by Roger Federer, and other items.

The formal gala, which took place at the luxurious Metropolitan Club in New York, was attended by celebrities and VIPs.

Help Peru is an organization that raises money for NGOs that help the less privileged in the country.
