Sofia Mulanovich can still qualify for the Tokyo Olympics
It depends on what happens with the Japanese in the World Cup in El Salvador for her to achieve the feat.

Peruvian Sofía Mulanovich, who two days ago said goodbye to the world surfing championship in El Salvador, where she had put all her effort to qualify for Tokyo 2020, still has a chance to achieve the feat.
Mulanovich depends on the Japanese team's result in this World Cup because during the last one, held in Japan, she provisionally qualified Shino Matsuda, who lost early in El Salvador.
And the other two Japanese in the competition, Amuro Tsuzuki and Mahina Maeda, still alive in El Salvador, can knock out Matsuda if they manage to get into the top 7 eligible.
If that happens, since there is no other Asian eligible for the 2019 Miyazaki World Championships, the one who would qualify would be Sofia Mulanovich because the rule states: “If there is no available athlete from any of the continents finishing within the ISA quality control, the spot will be awarded to the next best ranked surfer, who is not yet qualified, regardless of the continent.”
With this, if Mahina Maeda and Amuro Tsuzuki (the first in the main event and the second in the repechage) manage to enter the top 7 eligible, Sofia Mulanovich will earn her ticket to Tokyo.
In addition, there were no collisions with the highest number of athletes in the country, as her compatriot Melanie Giunta fell out of the event today.
