According to calculations made by DUKEsurf.com, Peruvian surfer Sol Aguirre is now the female champion of the ALAS tour.
Having made it into the top eight of the event and with her worst possible result being seventh or fifth, it is now impossible for her main rivals to catch up.
By finishing seventh, Aguirre reaches 4724 points, which even with a win would not be accessible to Havanna Cabrero, Analí Gómez, Daniella Rosas and Lucía Indurain.
It would have been possible for Argentina's Lucia Cosoletto, the vice-leader in the rankings, to beat her, but she lost in the round that just ended.
Aguirre thus confirms what has been a great year, still a junior and recently becoming three-time WSL South American junior champion.
