Sol Aguirre made it to the quarterfinals at the WSL Junior World Championships
Now he's going with Sara Wakita from Japan for a place on the podium.
Peruvian Sol Aguirre today made it to the quarterfinals of the WSL Junior World Championships being held in Jinzun Harbor, Taiwan. To do so, she went through a marathon of three rounds; she beat Mafalda Lopez of Portugal in rounds 1 and 3 and Lucía Machado of Spain in round 2.
She will now face Japanese Sara Wakita, with whom she will fight to qualify for the semi-finals. If she advances, she will face the best of the match between the North Americans Caitlin Simmers and Alyssa Spencer.
Also competing in the event are Alan Cleland of Mexico, who advanced solidly through his round 1 heat, and Raul Rios of Peru, who fell into the repechage and will face South African Luke Slijpen there.
