Sol Aguirre was narrowly missed

She lost by 0,17 against Carissa, needing a 3,67

Three point sixty-seven was all that Sol Aguirre needed to eliminate one of the best surfers in history, Carissa Moore, from the Oi Rio Pro.

The Peruvian competed well, securing a good score in the first 10 minutes, first scoring 3,5 and then 4,83, both waves in which she maneuvered strongly from the backside.

She put the pressure on Moore and the Hawaiian took a while to get back on track. She found a couple of backups (3,93+4,57) with which she ended up overtaking her but left the door open for Sol, with priority, to get a 3,67 with just under 10 minutes to go.

The sea became flat and the Peruvian was unable to get that wave.

The final score was 8,5 to 8,33.
