Sol, Arena and Leilani reached the round of 16 in Newcastle.

Carlos, Nadia, and Daniella bid farewell with strong performances; the Lowers wildcard was won by Dimitri Poulous; the women's wildcard is still being contested by Leilani, Eden, and Kirra.

Peruvians Sol Aguirre and Arena Rodríguez and Costa Rican Leilani McGonagle made it to the round of 1 of the year's Challenger XNUMX, which is being held in Newcastle, Australia.

Aguirre finished second in her heat, behind Sophie McCulloch and ahead of India Robinson and Minami Nonaka; Arena Rodríguez won her heat ahead of Kirra Pinkerton, Tessa Thyssen, and Nanaho Tsuzuki; and Leilani McGonagle placed second in hers, behind Yolanda Hopkins and ahead of Willow Hardy and Keala Tomoda Bannert.

Nadia Erostarbe lost by hundredths of a second to Kika Veselko and Eden Walla, and the same happened to Daniella Rosas against Tya Zebrowski and Ellie Harrison.

Meanwhile, the only remaining Spanish speaker among the men, Carlos Muñoz, had a good score, more than 11 points ahead of Xavier Huxtable and Michael Rodrigues.

Lowers' wildcard spot appears to have been decided among the men as Dimitri Poulous is the only one remaining from the North American regional among the men.

But among the women, there's still plenty of competition to be had, with Kirra Pinkerton, Eden Walla, and Leilani McGonagle still in the running. The top two will face each other in the round of 16.

Leilani goes against Tya Zebrowski, Sol against Sally Fitzgibbons and Arena against Kika Veselko.
