South American longboarders Julián Schweizer from Uruguay and Lucas Garrido Lecca from Peru took first and second place in the regional stage of the Western Conference in the United States.

In third place was one of the longboarders of the moment, the American Jack Van Wagoner who recently won the prestigious Mexi Log Fest.

The event took place on fun rights of between half a meter and one meter.

"The level was higher than I expected, both Jack and Lucas are top level longboarders in the world. There were two heats of six competitors and the final, with little battery life and no priority, was a bit of a massacre but great training for my future plan to do as many stages of the US circuit as possible, as well as competing in festivals in preparation for the WSL and Latin American tournaments," Schweizer told DUKEsurf.com.

Meanwhile, the Peruvian, who is in California because he will compete in the stages of the world longboard tour in Slater's pool and in Malibu, said: "Happy to have returned to an international event and to be on the podium. Happy also that my brother Julián Schweizer took first place and that South America left all the locals behind."

Stage 1 of the longboard tour is at the Surf Ranch on September 28th and 29th.
