The Spanish SUP and Paddleboard team made history today after being crowned world champion for the second consecutive year at the ISA World SUP and Paddleboarding Championships, which concluded in El Sunzal, El Salvador.

The Spanish had a key day of speed races, in which they basically fulfilled the task of staying far behind the French and Japanese.

And, with Sergio Cantoral's bronze and Alba Frey's silver, Spain managed to maintain the distance it held from victories in yesterday's distance races.

Spain won last year's world championship in Denmark, an event that only included racing and not surfing. This reaffirms the Spanish dominance in the sport.

The final result showed the red team in first place with 13976 versus 13552 for the French; that is to say, from yesterday to today they managed to gain a little more distance.

Spain managed to reach the podium in at least 10 categories at the event that awarded 14 medals, one of which was a gold medal, won by Judit Vergés in the Prone Distance Race.

As for the Spanish-speaking teams, Argentina finished sixth, Puerto Rico seventh, Peru eighth, and Chile eleventh.
