Spain travels armed to the teeth to the ISA Junior World Championships
A full team and a dream team in the under 16 women's category are going to Huntington looking to improve on last year's sixth place
The Spanish Surfing Federation has just announced the team that will represent the country in the 2019 edition of the Vissla ISA World Surfing Games, which will take place in Huntington Beach, California, between October 26 and November 3.
Spain has a complete team selected by national coaches, Pablo Solar and Ibon Amatriain, which consists of:
U18 male
1- Iker Amatriain
2- Yago Dominguez
3- Sean Gunning
U16 male
1- Adur Amatriain
2- Moses Dominguez
3- Jacob Wheat
Female Sub18
1- Julia Gonzalez
2- Nerea Donaire
3- Daniela Boldini
Female Sub16
1- Lucia Machado
2- Melania Suarez
3- Janire Gonzalez
Last year the Spanish team had a very good performance in the tournament, placing sixth and taking the copper medal in the under 16 women's category with Lucía Machado.
It is precisely in this category that the red team is seen to be at its strongest; Machado is accompanied by Melania Suárez and Janire González.
The following surfers were registered as substitutes: Under 18: Bitor Garitaonandia, Kike Suarez, Paolo Giorgi, Ana Betancor and Sara Urresti. Under 16: Nestor Garcia, Ricardo de la Hera, Mario Rasines, Kai Odriozola, Hans Odriozola, Laura de los Reyes, Alicia Takahashi, Bianca Tye and Martina Alvarez.
