Strong Spanish team will be present at the longboard world championship

They will seek a place in the top 15 for the first time in their participation in the ISA world championship of the discipline.


Spain has confirmed the team that will be representing the country on the perfect waves of El Sunzal between April 19 and 25 for the Surf City ISA World Longboard Championship.

The Spaniards, who finished 16th overall last year, are traveling with an almost unchanged team that changes only one of its women, with Daniela Sevillano joining Nico Nikki Dora García, Jon Garmendia and Carlota Jauregui, the Spanish surfing federation said in a statement.

In 2023, García and Jauregui finished the tournament at 21 and Garmendia at 29.

The team will have the support of the technical staff made up of Román Diez and Ricardo Palomeque.

The country's federation has started a collection to help the team. They are looking to raise 45.000 euros and have already raised 325.

Spain participated in three of the four longboard world championships held, placing as follows:

2018, China: 19
2019, France: 21
2023, El Salvador: 16
