Surfer dies in La Rinconada, Chile

A fishing boat collided with it; authorities urge to take precautions


A surfer whose identity and age are currently unknown died while surfing in Rinconada de Cobquecura, the country's surfing federation reported.

Apparently a fishing boat collided with the surfer, causing serious head injuries.

“The surfing community and local residents are mourning this tragic loss.
According to records, the surfer was hit by a boat, which caused his death," the statement said.

Authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident to determine responsibility and prevent future incidents.
