Surfer dies in Garopaba wave pool

A surfer died today in Garopaba's wave pool, Surfland, for reasons that are still unknown, the company reported on its Instagram a few hours ago.

Under the title “note of regret”, it reads: “It is with great regret that we inform you of the death of one of our clients, owner of the Surfland Brasil facilities. The incident occurred while he was surfing in the wave pool.”

“The report is being prepared by the Death Verification Service (SVO), responsible for investigating natural deaths. The client was seen unconscious in the water, shortly after moving away from the board. Within seconds, he was rescued by the water safety team, still with vital signs, and received first aid, with the support of the Fire Department, SAMU and the advanced medical team from the PMSC Águia helicopter,” they add.

“We are deeply saddened by this loss and extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time. Please be advised that the Park has been closed immediately and will remain closed throughout the day today (09/04). We thank everyone for their understanding and support at this very sensitive and sad time,” they conclude.

Garopaba Wave Pool opened on November 17, 2023, it is a Wavegarden Cove and has been a commercial success.

It was recently announced that the company would close to the public and would be dedicated solely to partners who buy shares in it.
