Surfing has an Olympic pictogram for the first time in history
The image of sport in the Olympic world: A regular footer performing a frontside grab, with a single fin?
Tokyo 2020 organisers unveiled the first-ever Olympic surfing pictogram on Tuesday at an event organised in conjunction with Japanese schoolchildren.
50 pictograms were displayed (there are 33 official sports but there are also demonstration sports).
The surfing image shows a regular footer doing a frontside grab aerial with what appears to be a single fin; a modern maneuver on an older board.
With 500 days to go until the start of the games, this video was used to present the event:
