Panamanian Tao Rodriguez rounded off a good week of surfing at the traditional Coastal Edge ECSC, QS 1000, which took place in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Rodriguez made good use of his backside and frontside in the small waves of the eastern United States to advance four heats, from the round of 64 to the semifinals where he was unable to beat the outstanding American, Levi Slawson.

In the semi-finals, which took place today, Sunday, Slawson stood out with a time of 15,33, which was considerably higher than Tao's 11,16.

The other one who stood out in the tournament was the Venezuelan Rafael Nono Pereira who was also defeated by Levi Slawson.

WSL North America events continue this week on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, August 30-September 3.
