The president of the Brazilian Surfing Confederation, legendary former professional surfer Teco Padaratz, has been elected to the board of directors of the Brazilian Olympic Committee, the Brazilian Surfing Confederation announced on its Instagram.

“Her presence on the board raises high expectations for surfing in 2025, further strengthening the sport’s representation in the Olympic landscape,” the statement said.

They added: “The election, held this morning (yesterday), marks a new moment for national sport, with great challenges and opportunities, and the presence of Teco Padaratz in the COB reinforces the commitment to the growth and visibility of surfing in the country.”

The incident occurred on the same day that Marco La Porta was elected as the new president of the COB along with Yane Marqués as vice president.
