The new revelation of Argentine surfing is called Thaiel Sosa, he is 15 years old and is managing to get podium finishes in the open, in which all the Argentine professional tigers compete.

His name appeared out of nowhere and hasn't stopped growing since. He achieved several podium finishes in the junior category, but gradually improved in the open category until, in the La Paloma classic, which demanded surfing from experienced surfers in more consistent conditions, the young man from Pinamar managed to reach the podium. It's as if to say he's here to stay, that he's not going anywhere.

The dream is to reach the CT, of course, and this year, to continue progressing, he is staying three months in El Salvador, where he will compete as part of the youth team.

Below, she tells a little about her life in a short interview.

What was it like growing up as a surfer in Pinamar?
It was good to go in every day, whatever the sea conditions were, many days even with no one in the water.

What have you done lately that led you to raise your level so much?
Enjoy being at sea, train specifically in techniques, and go to the gym with exercises geared towards surfing.

Was this year's La Paloma championship your best championship ever?
The result was good, yes, but I feel I failed to show a bit more surfing and I know I could have shown a better level.

How would you describe your surfing?
My surfing style is quite Brazilian because I spent a lot of time there as a child: speed, aerials, and line surfing.

Who are your national and international role models?
I like Franco Radziunas' surfing and, internationally, Yago Dora's.

How far do you want to go with surfing?
I dream of one day reaching the CT with the best in the world.

What are your plans for this year?
This year I'm going to El Salvador for three months where I'm going to compete in the junior world championships and I'll stay there training.
