That's how it was in Chile, with Clemente Rodríguez who once again fell off the waves at 16 years old.

“A glass of glass that lasted almost all day, which made the waves throw clean barrels from morning until sunset, truly a magical day here at home,” he said.

Clemente Rodríguez is 16 years old and has already become a regular presence in Punta de Lobos when the waves get huge.

This week's swelazo was no exception. He was there and went down a mountain of clean water, and he did it all.

“The swell hit perfectly, a little slow but orderly, clean, a very good direction, a glass that was there almost all day which made the waves throw clean barrels from morning until sunset, truly a magical day here at home,” he told DUKE.

Regarding how he experiences those days of big waves, he explained: “The truth is, the days before are a little nerve-wracking for me, because even though you have the report and the conditions, you really never know what the wave will be like, and then the day arrives, you get to the beach, you see the wave, and you're a little more relaxed, but always wanting to push the limits and ride the biggest ones.”
