They say it was the best swell of the season, it was certainly the best of the year. Last Saturday, January 8, the stars aligned for Nazaré to break massively and with the wind coming from the right quadrant throughout the day.

That also meant danger and so Pierre Rollet's ribs and CJ Macias' arm were fractured.

In this video, Argentinean based in Portugal, Benja Arena, with vast experience in following the best on the giant wave, selected the 10 best waves surfed in the swell.
