The surfing test in Lima 2019 will use all the marked days

There will be no waiting for waves. The open series will be man to man from round 1 and there will be double elimination until the end.

The surfing event at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will use all seven days of its allotted period, from July 29 to August 4, a source close to the organization of the games told DUKE.

There will be no waiting days for waves and there will be action every day regardless of the size of the sea. There will be a “waist” in case of fog, for example, but the tickets that are already on sale can be purchased regardless of the day.

The event will be televised live on national and international sports channels on August 2, 3 and 4.

Furthermore, in a completely innovative format, all open men's and women's series will be man-on-man or woman-on-woman from round 1 to the grand final. There will thus be one series per category that will determine the bronze medalist without there being, as happens in ISA events, a copper medalist.

This is not expected to happen for longboard and SUP surf because the quota of athletes is odd (nine).

The divisions will have repechage until the grand final like most ISA events.

Last week, DUKE reported that the cost of tickets varies between six and nine dollars for the general public (half for minors, seniors and the disabled).

One thousand tickets are already on sale for each day of the championship.

The surfing test will take place at Punta Rocas, a wave that can present perfect waves from both feet and can handle virtually any size.
