Confirmed: The 2026 Pan American Games will be in Venao

Between April 24 and May 3; PASA repeats the formula with 22 athletes forming a complete team; qualifies for the Central American and Caribbean Games


The 2026 Pan American Surfing Games have been confirmed to take place in Playa Venao, Panama between April 24 and May 3, PASA reported in a letter sent to all its member federations, which DUKE accessed.

Panama hosts its third Pan American Games in four years, as it was held in Venao in 2023 and in Santa Catalina in 2024.

The event, like the 2025 edition, will have teams of a maximum of 22 athletes, made up of:
- Shortboard (3 Male / 3 Female)
- Longboard (2 Male / 2 Female)
- SUP Surf (2 Male / 2 Female)
- SUP Technical Race (2 Male/ 2 Female)
- Prone Bodyboard (2 Male/ 2 Female)

The event will serve as a qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Games
Santo Domingo 2026 and is part of the qualification for Lima 2027. Not directly, but by giving a better pre-qualification to the 2027 Pan American Games, which will qualify for Lima, which at the same time will qualify for Los Angeles 2028.

Peru is the current defending team champion of the Pan American Games.

The latest edition of the event took place on El Hawaii beach in Guatemala.
