The Argentine flag is in the CT for the first time

Alejo Muñiz wears the white and blue on his right sleeve and the yellow and green on his left; and he has just won his series

Alejo Muñiz, who was born in Argentina but raised in Brazil and represented this country throughout his career, decided to honor his roots this year and carry the family flag in one of his arms while wearing his CT lycra.

For the first time in history, the Argentine flag was displayed in the elite of world surfing. A week ago, in his debut series, it did not go as he had hoped, but today he won, as Alejo beat Yago Dora and Jackson Bunch.

Alejo, who was named after one of the most legendary players in the country's history: Alejo Abramidis, came out of the water and was greeted by Adriano de Souza and Argentine pro Tomás López Moreno.

RELATED NOTE: "Name him Alejo and he'll be a great surfer"

Alejo had shared this news on his Instagram on January 24 and the Argentine magazine Surfista had highlighted it.

Alejo's younger brother, Santiago, won two ISA world titles under the Argentine flag.
