Martín Passeri, Marcelo Rodríguez, Mariano Arreyes and Felipe Suárez survived the first day of the Quiksilver Open La Paloma and today they will fight for the 2019 Argentine surfing championship.
Brian Masmut was unable to beat the multiple Argentine champion, Maxi Siri, and said goodbye to his hopes of winning the championship.
For his part, Nicolás Hermida, who needed to win the event, could not beat Joaquín Juarez and that is where another candidate left.
Mariano Arreyes, who is tied for second with his brother Facundo (who decided not to go to the event) had a very tough battle with the young Nazareno Pereyra; the narrow victory was 7,95 to 7,75.
The candidates will go into the water tomorrow as follows:
Martín Passeri verus Nahuel Rull
Marcelo Rodriguez versus Feliciano Jimenez
Felipe Suarez versus Andres Mondo
Mariano Arreyes versus rival to be defined
