Asian qualifiers for Surf City El Salvador ALAS Global Finals have been announced.

Two from Indonesia, one from Korea, one from India, one from Thailand, one from China and two from Japan participated in the decision that will take place in Punta Mango in November.

Pajar Aryana (INA), Mega Artana (INA), Kanoa Heeje (KOR), Ramesh Budihal (IND) in the men's open and Shuhan Jin (CHN), Isabel Higgs (THA), Anri Matsuno (JPN) and Sumomo Sato (JPN) in the women's open are the eight qualified from Asia to the Surf City El Salvador ALAS Global Finals that will take place in Punta Mango between November 17 and 23.

The qualifiers were determined today in Tamil Nadu, India, where the Asian Surfing Championship is being held.

The eight Asian qualifiers—two from Indonesia, two from Indonesia, one from Korea, one from India, one from Thailand, one from China, and two from Japan—have made it to the final decision, which will take place in Punta Mango in November and are now in the top 64 of the men's and women's open teams that will participate in the event that will determine the ALAS global champions for the first time in history.

They join the Europeans already determined at the European Championships: Gearoid McDaid of Ireland, the new European champion, Luis Diaz of Spain, silver medalist, Oliver Heintz of the Netherlands, bronze medalist, and Tim Elter of Germany, copper medalist, along with the new European champion Mafalda Lopez of Portugal, Ariane Ochoa of Spain, silver medalist, Maria Salgado also of Portugal, bronze medalist, and Charlotte Mulley of England.

The grand finals at the Indian event have not been determined.

ALAS President Karín Sierralta will be present and, just as in Europe, will hand out tickets to those who qualify.
