The Chilean version of the Rip Curl Pro Search in Chile has been given a yellow alert and is likely to take place in the coming weeks, according to a press release sent by the brand this afternoon.

With $8.000 in prize money, the invitational tournament that runs along the extensive Chilean coast was scheduled to take place at the end of last year but did not find the window to do so.

The consistent south swells that come with winter in the Pacific are expected to bring waves for the tournament to take place, which has the following guests:

The place chosen by the organizers for this edition of the event was the Isla Grande de Chiloé, where they say there is great potential for finding good conditions.

Juan Pablo Barrientos, the event director, toured the area and said: “There are several locations with great potential, some even unexplored, that perfectly meet the standards required for the event. In addition, during April, large, directional swells come from the south, which allows us to predict tremendous competition.”
