Fiji CT series are out

Slater will face Barron and Griffin in his farewell; local Tevita Gukilau won the trials on a pumping Cloudbreak and made it into the tournament


The series for Kelly Slater's official farewell event to professional surfing, the Fiji Pro, have been released by the WSL.

Local Tevita Gukilau won the local trials, which according to AOS Midia were held in 6 to 8 foot pumping waves, and qualified for the tournament where in round 1 he will face John John Florence and Kanoa Igarashi.

Meanwhile, Kelly Slater will face Barron Mamiya and Griffin Colapinto in round 1.

On the women's side, as previously reported, two of the biggest young talents on the planet, Sierra Kerr and Erin Brooks are the wildcards. The former will go against Caitlin Simmers and Sawyer Lindblad and the latter against Caroline Marks and Tatiana Weston Webb.

The waiting period for what will be the last stage of the CT regular season and will ultimately determine who qualifies for the finals is scheduled to take place between August 20 and 29.
