The Hawaiian Triple Crown is now digital and will distribute $200.000 in prizes
Between December 21 and January 18, competitors will have to send two waves from each spot, the one who scores the most wins.
The Hawaiian Triple Crown will be 100% digital, Vans reported on the event's website. Competitors in the tournament will have to submit two waves surfed at Haleiwa, two at Sunset and two at Pipe that will be judged and the one with the most waves will win the tournament.
There are $200.000 in prize money, but it has not yet been announced how it will be distributed. There is also no information on who the judging panel will be.
One of the new features of the digital version is that there will be a female version of the event.
This is the 35th edition of the Triple Crown and the motto explained in the press release is that “a unique year calls for radical change.”
