The Pan American Games in Venao are key to qualifying for the Central American and Caribbean Games

This qualifies them for another event that grants a ticket to Lima 2027

Surfing at the Central American and Caribbean Games now has its qualifying path set, PASA announced on Instagram. The event, which will take place in Encuentro between July 25 and 29, will feature the following categories:

Women's Short Board with 18 Athletes
Men's Short Board with 18 Athletes
Women's Longboard with 09 Athletes
Men's Longboard with 09 Athletes
Women's SUP Surf with 09 Athletes
Men's SUP Surf with 09 Athletes.

PASA wrote: “They must qualify in 16 per gender in Shortboard, 08 per gender in Longboard and Sup Surf through the Pan American Surf Games to be held in Playa Venao-Panama from April 24 to May 03, 2026.”

“It is important to note that the gold medalists in Short Board at the Central American Games will obtain a spot for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games,” the statement said.

A quota is reserved for the host nation.

In other words, all those eligible from the Pan American Games, top 16 in shortboard and top 8 in longboard and SUP qualify for Santo Domingo.

The countries participating in the Central American and Caribbean Games are: Antigua and Barbuda, Netherlands Antilles, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Curaçao, Dominica, El Salvador, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Guyana, French Guiana, Haiti, Honduras, Cayman Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, British Virgin Islands, United States Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Saint Maarten, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela.
