"The project will allow us to provide a better service to high-performance surfing athletes participating in the XVIII Pan American Games and the 2019 Para-Pan American Games; as well as improve our position as a country in the sport of surfing worldwide and achieve a position within the top six places in the world ranking by 2028," the statement said.
"The project involves the construction of a modern sports infrastructure that meets the technical aspects required for training services (gym, skate park, training pool); preparation service (sand multi-sport court, instruction and relaxation), competition (stands), support and sports management (rest and accommodation service) that high-performance surf athletes need, as well as the respective equipment for each of these services, to serve approximately 8,632 direct beneficiaries," he added.
The money allocated to the project is the largest ever allocated to sport in the country's history. exceeding by several times the amount received annually by the local federation, more than 615.000 dollars.
According to the document that reports the bases of the selection process and stipulates the conditions of the work, the construction must last 317 days from the signing of the contract, which leaves little room for error since the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will begin on July 26.
