Special coverage presented by Quiksilver Argentina
The traditional Quiksilver La Plaoma 2020 will take place tomorrow and the day after on the perfect wave in the south of Mar del Plata and will be the fourth stage of the Argentine surfing circuit led by Leandro Usuna, the sponsoring brand reported in a press release.
The two-time ISA world champion will secure the Argentine title if he wins the stage or if he finishes second and if the winner of that stage is not his main rival, Nazareno Pereyra.
According to information provided to DUKE by ASA President Freddy Tórtora, the four best athletes of the five stages to be held in the Argentine men's and women's tour will be added.
The organizers announced that for the first time in history, the La Paloma event will have a women's category.
Among the women, the leader is Coco Cianciarulo, who has one victory and two fifth places. However, Josefina Ané is in a better position, having two victories and not participating in a stage. That is, everything she earns in the two stages to be contested will go to her final score and she has the possibility of earning a perfect score if she wins the next two stages.
The Argentine tour authorities announced that the final stage will be the Rip Curl Biology Championship, which will take place between Sunday and Tuesday.
The expression session circuit will also be awarded, which will award the winner of the ranking with a ticket to Skeleton Bay.
