The Quiksilver Open La Paloma classic opened its waiting period for waves yesterday, May 2, which will extend until May 28.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event, one of the most traditional in the Southern Cone.
According to Sebastián Chacón, Quiksilver press, “for two decades, this traditional event built its reputation as a classic, heat by heat it populated the gallery of champions, presented memorable battles, crossed the old school with new values and, above all, saw the birth of the new generation of Argentine surfing.”
The event will be the final date of the National Surf League and will therefore determine the Argentine champions.
“Talking about the Quiksilver Open La Paloma is talking about a goal that many competitors continue to pursue, some managed to achieve it on several occasions, while others came close or far away, while they continue to wait for the blessing of a swell that will take them to the top of the podium,” the statement added.
